Where Screen and Heart Align

This space was born out of a deep love for the stories that unfold on screen, whether in a theater, on TV, or through a video game.

At Screen Love Affair, we dive into the full spectrum of film, television, and gaming, from blockbusters to hidden gems. Our passion drives us to explore every corner of screen culture, always searching for the films, shows, and games that remind us why we fell in love with them in the first place.

And now, with Talkies our podcast, we’re bringing that same passion to lively conversations about the movies that move us, challenge us, and keep us talking.

Thanks for being a part of our Screen Love Affair!

Meet The Team

Shea

I consider myself a fan first and foremost. I just genuinely enjoy movies, TV, and video games and want to hopefully open your world to some of those films, shows, and games you might have missed!

Brandon

I work as a director, cinematographer, and set dresser with IATSE 873. I’ve worked on projects like FUBAR, Umbrella Academy, and Mayor of Kingstown. I also have a decade of experience in still photography and wedding films. You can hear me talking movies on Talkies, the Screen Love Affair podcast.

Adriana

I truly believe that movies and TV shows can save lives. When I’m not trying to catch up on my never-ending backlog of Things To Watch, you can probably find me writing words, taking pictures, or glooping things together in Hyrule.

our ratings scale

One of our challenges was creating a rating scale that truly reflects how most people connect with art. While a 1-10 scale offers precision, it often leads to overanalyzing minor differences. That’s where the Heart-O-Meter shines!

We believe that most people simplify their feelings about art into categories like hate, dislike, mid, like, and love. The Heart-O-Meter captures this essence perfectly.

With the Heart-O-Meter, movies as different as Vampire’s Kiss and the Lord of the Rings can end up with the same score, each for entirely distinct reasons!

The Heart-O-Meter provides a snapshot of our overall impression, but if you really want to get to the heart of our reviews, you’ll have to read them!
